A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our competition and helped make it a success!

Show off your Hardox body and win!

If you’re an owner or operator of a Hardox® truck or trailer, we’re giving you the chance to show off your Hardox® unit! Send in a photo and share your story on why yours is the hardest, toughest and best-looking.

For the first time ever, Real Steel is inviting all Hardox® owners and operators across New Zealand to ‘Show off your Hardox body’ in a photo competition between March and July 2020.

Show off your Hardox body’ is in celebration of New Zealand’s 4000th Hardox truck — a huge milestone for Real Steel which will be achieved part way through the competition.

Your stories

7 years of hard work. 550,000km. Over 100,000t of scrap metal. Still looking sharp.

Our bins are seven years old and take a massive pounding from up to 100 tonne per day of heavy scrap metal. I’m very impressed with the durability performance of the Hardox bins.

I’m the full-time operator for this unit and over the past 3 years I have carted a lot of rock around the lower north island – 500 to 1 metre big boulders and the bins still look brand new. As of today, there’s not a dent in them.

We started with Hardox floors and then onto full Hardox bins once the 1000 tonne press brake arrived at Real Steel. The one piece folded sides were very impressive and became easier and quicker to assemble.

The Hardox bin flooring stays flat so it’s easy to tip the product out. It makes my job easier because I don’t need to get up there with a shovel. The load empties really well and there’s no hang up with the Hardox
— Richie Akanoa from Rapid Earthworks

The Iveco Trakker 6x6 is a great truck for the job at hand and handles well towing the 2 axle “dog” Hardox trailer. We use our Hardox Giltrap trailer for end hauling dirt while building the forestry roads. Both of these were bought brand new and are great bits of equipment.

The Hardox bin is just awesome, best product ever! We put anything and everything in our Hardox bin. Earlier this month it had been on the road for one year and it still looks as good as the day we got it

The tail gate closes well and it cleans really good.
